Mission

“Mamawi Kohtawinaw Ka Kisa watisit through supreme wisdom and compassion granted that our tribe should bear children. Mamawi Kohtawinaw conferred on the Montana First Nation the responsibility of nurturing these children to maturity accordingly, with wisdom, compassion and conscientious security derived from the Spirit of Natural Law”

The Montana First Nation wish to assure that children born of the respective Tribe will be nurtured, loved, supported and cared for to a meaningful maturity. Respectful of Mamawi Kohtawinaw’s purpose of parenting, the Montana First Nation, through ACFSS will endeavor and pursue family reunification as appropriately and as immediately as the need arises.

The Montana First Nation will pursue this mission while keeping in mind that every child must be given the opportunity to develop to the fullest of their potential with appropriate guidance. Further, reaffirming their beliefs and birth right they will strive to preserve and protect every child’s treaty rights, custom, traditions, language and heritage.
